NewJeans Legal Battle Against ADOR and HYBE: K-Pop Stars Allege Betrayal and Agency Misconduct

NewJeans has taken a significant step by launching a legal battle against their agency, ADOR, and its parent company, HYBE, citing serious allegations of betrayal, misconduct, and harassment. The group, comprising members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein, has claimed that the agencies failed to meet their obligations to support and protect them as artists. In their public letter, NewJeans detailed the issues that led to their legal action, accusing ADOR and HYBE of breaking their trust and creating challenges that hindered the group’s career development. NewJeans legal battle against ADOR and HYBE is a pivotal moment for NewJeans as they strive to uncover the truth and regain control over their artistic future.

What Triggered the Legal Battle?

ADOR has reportedly filed a lawsuit aimed at validating its exclusive contract with NewJeans. The agency has also requested an injunction to prevent the group from signing independent advertising deals. In response, NewJeans appointed the law firm Shin & Kim to handle the case, stating the urgency of countering HYBE and ADOR's alleged misconduct.

The members accused ADOR and HYBE of failing in their duties as agencies, claiming that instead of fostering their careers, the companies created obstacles. According to their letter, ADOR used false pretenses to suspend their activities and leaked harmful rumors through media channels to tarnish their reputation.

Standing United in the Legal Fight

In their letter, NewJeans revealed that ADOR and HYBE had even tried to manipulate their families to create divisions among the members. The group made it clear that they have “no intention of returning to HYBE or ADOR,” describing the agencies as places where trust has been entirely eroded.

"We aim to expose the truth through legal procedures and boldly fight in court to hold ADOR and HYBE accountable," the group stated.

A Promise to Their Fans

Despite the ongoing legal battle, NewJeans reassured fans of their dedication to their music and their determination to return stronger. They urged their fans to support them as they navigate this challenging time.
